Every meaningful journey eventually reaches its final chapter, but the knowledge, friendships and memories created along the way can continue far beyond the last day.

As the Orange Moon Training learners concluded their international placement at Little Caliphs® Excellence Centre (LCEC) and the Integrated Islamic School of Shah Alam (IISA), their final day brought together physical learning, problem-solving, Islamic practices and professional reflection.

It was a fitting conclusion to a week shaped by shared experiences, cultural understanding and a mutual passion for children’s education.

Building Confidence Through Movement 

The day began outdoors with a physical obstacle course designed to strengthen the children’s balance, coordination and confidence.

The children carefully navigated balancing beams and completed a variety of movement challenges, supported and encouraged by both our educators and the Orange Moon learners.

The visiting learners played an active role by motivating the children and celebrating their efforts. The activity showed that physical development is not simply about movement but it can also help children build perseverance, independence and belief in themselves. 

Experiencing Faith as Part of Daily Learning 

One of the most meaningful moments of the day came when the Orange Moon learners joined the children during prayer time.

They were invited to observe and participate respectfully as the children performed an important part of their daily routine.

At Little Caliphs®, spiritual development is not treated as a separate part of education. It is woven naturally into the child’s daily experience through prayer, good manners, positive values and an awareness of Allah.

By experiencing this environment firsthand, the visiting learners gained a deeper appreciation of how culture, religion and education can work together in supporting the development of the whole child.

Exchanging Perspectives Between Malaysia and the United Kingdom

Later in the day, the Orange Moon learners and our teachers gathered to reflect on the placement and exchange professional perspectives.

Their conversations explored teaching practices, curriculum design, educational policies and the different realities experienced by schools and early years settings in Malaysia and the United Kingdom.

The discussion highlighted several differences between the two educational environments. However, it also revealed an important common ground: educators in both countries are united by a shared responsibility to protect children’s wellbeing and help them learn, grow and thrive.

These professional conversations added another meaningful dimension to the placement. They allowed everyone involved to look beyond their own familiar practices and consider education from a broader, global perspective.
