Little Caliphs Kids Celebrate Earth Day with Fun and Green Learning!

It was a joyful and meaningful Earth Day celebration for our Little Caliphs USJ15 kindergarten students as they spent the day outdoors at the USJ14 Community Garden, learning how to love and care for the planet.

The garden came alive with the sound of little footsteps and laughter as the children took part in nature walks, leaf printing, and even drumming using recycled items! These fun hands-on activities helped the children explore the beauty of nature while discovering simple ways to live sustainably.

According to kindergarten headmaster Amal Mohammed Nasser, this was the first time the children celebrated Earth Day in the garden, although they’ve visited before for science projects.

“Being in the garden helps them see the importance of keeping the Earth clean and healthy. It’s a learning experience that goes beyond the classroom,” said Amal.

The event also encouraged family and community involvement. Kindergarten operator Nur Jannah Nur Iskandar shared, “We wanted children and their parents to start small — from their own homes — by practising good habits like cleanliness and the 3Rs: reduce, reuse, and recycle.”

The celebration also saw support from Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ), with councillor Ken Chia joining the event. MBSJ gave a short health and anti-dengue talk to the children and expressed interest in working with more kindergartens to promote eco-education and renewable energy in the future.

The event was hosted in collaboration with the Community Garden Association, which has been working closely with Little Caliphs since 2019. Garden secretary Muhamad Adam Abdullah shared that their garden is more than just a place to plant vegetables.

“We’ve created a rainwater harvesting system, composting area using dried leaves, and built bamboo structures. It’s a garden made for learning and community bonding — perfect for Earth Day,” he said.

We’re proud of our young learners and thankful to everyone who made this special day possible. Let’s continue to nurture a generation that loves, protects, and celebrates our beautiful Earth!
