The Little Hajj Malaysia 2024 – Putrajaya event was held with great enthusiasm and participation, marking a memorable day on 26th June 2024 at Masjid Sultan Abdul Samad KLIA. Running from 8am to 2pm, the event brought together a large number of young participants in an educational and spiritually enriching experience.
The event was inaugurated by the esteemed Datuk Haji Roslan bin Nordin, Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Little Caliphs® International Sdn. Bhd., who graciously officiated the program. The program also had the honor of hosting Datin Dr. Hajjah Sabariah Faridah binti Haji Jamaluddin, Chief Academic Officer (CAO) of Little Caliphs® International Sdn. Bhd., whose presence added further significance to the occasion.
A remarkable 2,478 enthusiastic 6-year-old students, accompanied by 295 dedicated Mutawwif from 74 Little Caliphs® kindergartens participated in this immersive event. The children, dressed in traditional white garments (Ihram Cloth), engaged in a simulated pilgrimage experience, marching around a model of the Holy Kaaba. This activity was meticulously designed to capture the essence of Hajj, providing the young participants a hands-on and engaging way to learn about the fifth pillar of Islam.
Reflecting the educational philosophy of Little Caliphs®, the event utilized the Project Based Learning (PBL) methodology. This dynamic, experiential approach allowed the children to actively participate in and experience the various rituals of Hajj, including Ihram, Wuquf, Tawaf, Sa’i, and Tahallul. Through this immersive method, the children gained a profound and comprehensive understanding of the Hajj pilgrimage, ensuring they are well-prepared for the future.
“Little Caliphs® employs a variety of educational approaches, and our Little Hajj program exemplifies this through the Project Based Learning method. By actively participating, children experience the learning process first-hand, engaging their senses in a deeply meaningful way. This approach not only enhances their understanding but also ensures that the knowledge is retained and cherished, InshaAllah,” stated by Datuk Haji Roslan bin Nordin.
“In addition to Little Hajj, Little Caliphs® integrates the Project Based Learning approach into other dynamic programs such as Little Caliphs® Scientist, Little Caliphs® Builder, and events like Market Day. These programs, held across all Little Caliphs® kindergartens in Malaysia, provide our children with diverse and enriching learning experiences,” added by Datin Dr. Hajjah Sabariah Faridah binti Haji Jamaluddin.
The success of Little Hajj Malaysia 2024 highlights the effectiveness of experiential learning in imparting essential religious knowledge and values. It was a day filled with joy, learning, and spiritual growth, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.
