Little Hajj Malaysia 2024 – Putrajaya: A Day of Immersive Learning and Spiritual Enrichment

The Little Hajj Malaysia 2024 – Putrajaya event was held with great enthusiasm and participation, marking a memorable day on 26th June 2024 at Masjid Sultan Abdul Samad KLIA. Running from 8am to 2pm, the event brought together a large number of young participants in an educational and spiritually enriching experience.

The event was inaugurated by the esteemed Datuk Haji Roslan bin Nordin, Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Little Caliphs® International Sdn. Bhd., who graciously officiated the program. The program also had the honor of hosting Datin Dr. Hajjah Sabariah Faridah binti Haji Jamaluddin, Chief Academic Officer (CAO) of Little Caliphs® International Sdn. Bhd., whose presence added further significance to the occasion.

A remarkable 2,478 enthusiastic 6-year-old students, accompanied by 295 dedicated Mutawwif from 74 Little Caliphs® kindergartens participated in this immersive event. The children, dressed in traditional white garments (Ihram Cloth), engaged in a simulated pilgrimage experience, marching around a model of the Holy Kaaba. This activity was meticulously designed to capture the essence of Hajj, providing the young participants a hands-on and engaging way to learn about the fifth pillar of Islam.

Reflecting the educational philosophy of Little Caliphs®, the event utilized the Project Based Learning (PBL) methodology. This dynamic, experiential approach allowed the children to actively participate in and experience the various rituals of Hajj, including Ihram, Wuquf, Tawaf, Sa’i, and Tahallul. Through this immersive method, the children gained a profound and comprehensive understanding of the Hajj pilgrimage, ensuring they are well-prepared for the future.

“Little Caliphs® employs a variety of educational approaches, and our Little Hajj program exemplifies this through the Project Based Learning method. By actively participating, children experience the learning process first-hand, engaging their senses in a deeply meaningful way. This approach not only enhances their understanding but also ensures that the knowledge is retained and cherished, InshaAllah,” stated by Datuk Haji Roslan bin Nordin.

“In addition to Little Hajj, Little Caliphs® integrates the Project Based Learning approach into other dynamic programs such as Little Caliphs® Scientist, Little Caliphs® Builder, and events like Market Day. These programs, held across all Little Caliphs® kindergartens in Malaysia, provide our children with diverse and enriching learning experiences,” added by Datin Dr. Hajjah Sabariah Faridah binti Haji Jamaluddin.

The success of Little Hajj Malaysia 2024 highlights the effectiveness of experiential learning in imparting essential religious knowledge and values. It was a day filled with joy, learning, and spiritual growth, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.

Little Caliphs® International Sdn Bhd (LCISB) has been leading the field of early childhood education for 20 years and is still committed to generating holistic pre-school children through The Little Caliphs® Program (TLCP) module. Little Caliphs® remains relevant because it continues to invest in research and development in step with the growth of pre-school children, particularly in this digital age.

Under the tagline ‘Ingat Tadika, Ingat Little Caliphs!’, Little Caliphs® will be organising a Little Caliphs® Mega Open Day 2024 in cooperation with the ‘Jom Pandaikan Anak Anda di Little Caliphs’. On 28th October, Saturday over 500 Little Caliphs® Kindergarten branches across Malaysia and Indonesia will be celebrating the Mega Open Day at the same day.

“This campaign is our effort to achieve high enrolment in each of our kindergartens in Malaysia and Indonesia for the school year. Parents can ask question Little Caliphs® Kindergarten operators directly about the TLCP programme on this Mega Open Day, in addition to touring the kindergarten and viewing the children’s learning environment”, stated by Dr Sabariah Faridah, Founder and the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) of LCISB.

“Don’t forget to enrol your children at Little Caliphs® for their success in this world and the hereafter, InsyaAllah!” she added.

“Adam… janganlah buat adik!!!” jerit mama… kuatnya jeritan mama sehingga ke dapur boleh dengar! “Adam… jangan suka jelir lidah kat adik…. Adam, janganlah rebut mainan tu… Adam, kenapa mama cakap sekali tak nak dengar????”

 1. Memberi ransangan positif

Kadangkala anak-anak menjadi nakal kerana mereka memerlukan perhatian.

Tukar skrip cara kita menegur. “Adam… tengok TV lama sangat tak bagus, jom ikut mama… tolong mama buat kuih di dapur.” Janganlah kita menegur begini “Adam… nak jadi budak malas ya? Asyik tengok TV aje… tutup TV tu!”

 6. Relaks

The first day of kindergarten can be both exciting and frightening for students, parents, and the teacher too. There are mixed emotions everywhere as this day marks a huge milestone in the child’s life. As teachers, we need to incorporate ideas to help ease first day jitters and start the school year off on the right track. Here are a few tips to help you plan for the first day of kindergarten.

  1. PLANNING FOR THE TEACHERS
  1. Plan! Plan! Plan! When planning for the first day of kindergarten keep in mind that many students have never been in a school setting. Have your first day planned from the moment the first child enters your classroom to the time you wave goodbye to those bright eyes glancing back at you. You will have to teach things like :-
  1. Create several copies of your teaching roster. On the roster, include important information such as :-
  1. Name tags for students.

When planning for the first day of kindergarten you will need to create name tags for students which include child’s full name and teacher’s name.

  1. All instructional material such as pencils, crayons, and scissors should be ready to use.

I suggest making a to-do list to keep track of everything such as the Must-Do List.

2. PLANNING FOR STUDENTS

  1. Getting Acquainted

According to Paula Denton, author of The First Six Weeks of School, the focus of the first weeks of school should be upon getting to know each other and the routines and layout of the school.

Check out some activities I use to incorporate this theory. Teachers may use various songs, chants, and games to help students begin the community building process on day one. We may begin incorporating activities that help students learn each other’s name. Check out What’s In a Name? For a list of nursery rhymes that you can use to help students learn the names of their classmates.

Students need to get acquainted with the routines of the school and classroom. Routines help give students a feeling of security. This may take weeks to establish, but once mastered, they will save both teachers and students time and energy for more important things.

In LC, we have book “Going to Little Caliphs” so teacher may use this book as a tool to share with the kids about kindergarten. In addition, teacher can make the first day of school a little less stressful with a few good back-to-school books. Many of these books consist of characters that are experiencing jitters that are similar to those of your little ones. These books help students to relate to other children’s experiences. Here are just some of my favorites :-
